Professional Experience

Pearl’s experience spans across the areas of corporate advisory, restructurings, project finance, banking and securitisation. She joined KAA from Byenkya, Kihika & Co. Advocates where her work included advising companies on regulatory and compliance issues, share redemptions, processing of licenses and applications, company secretarial services including filing of relevant documentation with the registries. Pearl is a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Finance Department of the firm. She advises on corporate governance issues, company secretarial matters, mergers and acquisitions, international cross-border finance, trade and commodity finance, project finance, infrastructure finance and asset finance. She also advises developers of renewable energy projects on regulatory compliance and assists with negotiations with various governmental agencies. She advises on international trade matters, laws and treaties such as the WTO and free trade agreements. She also deals with employment and human resource matters, especially the structuring of staff handbooks and human resources manuals and terms and conditions of employment.
